Jeff Otey
Biography:
Jeffrey Otey is a lecturer at Texas A&M University in the department of
Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution. He graduated from Texas
Tech University in 1991 (B.S. in Agricultural Engineering) and from Texas
A&M in 1994 (M.Eng. in Agricultural Engineering). He has worked in industry
as a draftsman for a structural engineering firm and as a construction
inspector for the Texas Department of Transportation. He spent several years
in the army as an armorer and small arms repairman, responsible for the
repair and maintenance of weapons ranging from .22 caliber pistols to 105mm
Howitzers. His areas of expertise include hydrology, irrigation,
aquaculture, and rural wastewater management. He teaches in the freshman
engineering program and the Engineering Design Graphics program. Prior to
coming to the ENDG Department, he taught in the Agricultural Engineering
Department and upper level science and math at several local high schools.
He is a faculty co-sponsor for the CADD Society.
