Biography:
Matthew Whiteacre is a senior lecturer at Texas A&M in the department of
Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution. His degrees are in
nuclear engineering with a focus on radiation protection and statistics.
Early in his career he spent time working at Los Alamos National Laboratory
for the Health, Safety, and Environment group. Since 1983 he has been
instructing freshman engineering graphics at Texas A&M and was on the
planning committee for the Foundation Coalition at Texas A&M. He is the
graphics liaison to the College of Engineering Freshman Programs office. He
has taught AutoCAD since 1984 (version 1.4). In addition to working with the
freshman program he has taught classes using rendering, parametric solid
modeling, customizing AutoCAD and rapid prototyping to upper classmen. He is
current a member of the Texas A&M Faculty senate, serving as the chair of
the engineering senators caucus and a faculty co-advisor to the Texas A&M
CADD club, a student group focusing of aspects of computer aided design and
its various applications.
